FURTHER DETAILS HERE!

Announcing the Prevent Cancer Foundation 2016 Community Grants Cycle!

Apply now! Share with groups in your community!

The purpose of the Community Grants is to provide the needed resources to support organizations which have strong ties to their local communities and which have programs that focus on helping people prevent cancer or find it earlier. Successful applicants will demonstrate the potential of their programs to make a positive impact on individuals, families or communities, especially underserved communities. For this cycle, the Foundation expects to fund nine $25,000 one-year awards.

Read about previous and current grantees and their valuable projects in cancer prevention and early detection here. Since 2007, the Foundation has awarded community grants in 27 states, tribes and territories.

The 2016 grants cycle has two required two steps:

  1. A potential applicant must submit a completed Intent to Apply form by 6:00 pm ET on February 25, 2016. The information submitted is nonbinding and will be used by the Foundation for planning purposes. Review the Guidelines (attached) including eligibility and the grants cycle timeline prior to submitting the Intent to Apply form. Organizations which do not complete the form by the deadline will not be allowed to apply for the 2016 grants cycle. The Intent to Apply form is located on the 2016 Community Grants page.
  2. For each organization which completed Step #1, the Foundation will send notification of next steps via email by March 1. Applications will be disseminated via email to eligible organizations on March 1, 2016, and due on March 21, 2016. ‘Eligibility to Apply’ is based on organization’s location (outside the DC metro area), tax-exempt status and project description, and on submission of the completed Intent to Apply form on time. See the Guidelines (attached) for more information about the application submission and review process.

A testimonial from a 2014 Grantee: “This project is beneficial to the immigrant and refugee communities we work with. Thank you for the opportunity to help women of all backgrounds to remain strong and healthy!”
