IHS Health Promotion/Disease Prevention | Sacred Circle of Tobacco Virtual Training

Thursday, March 18, 2021
12 – 4 p.m. ET

The Sacred Circle of Tobacco is designed to engage youth in taking lead roles to bring awareness of the traditional use of sacred tobacco.  This training will prepare adult mentors/individuals on strategies to recruit and train youth, serve as a supportive mentor, and to facilitate interactive training using stories, discussion, interviews, and to encourage youth to develop a plan to reach their peers and communities.

At the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  1.  Differentiate between commercial and traditional tobacco use.
  2. Identify strategies to engage youth to bring awareness of sacred tobacco.
  3. Gain skills and confidence to implement the Sacred Circle of Tobacco in the community.
