Nationwide Offering Basic Tobacco Intervention Skills Certification for Native Communities

With support from the National Native Network and the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, we have the opportunity to host the University of Arizona, Basic Tobacco Intervention Skills Course for Native Communities.

The Basic Tobacco Intervention Skills Certification for Native Communities is an accredited eight-hour continuing education/certification course that teaches brief interventions with an emphasis on the use of commercial nicotine products used within Native American communities.  The course offers culturally responsive treatment strategies to intervene with Native peoples dependent on commercial nicotine products.  Certification candidates receive adapted multimodal resources specific to Native American health.

This is an In-Person event being hosted by the Inter-Tribal Council of Michigan on Wednesday, December 7 and the morning of Thursday, December 8 at the Great Wolf Lodge in Traverse City, Michigan.

Local airport is Traverse City Cherry Capital Airport — Rental Car is highly recommended.  There is no charge for the course of CEUs.  We only have 15 seats remaining.  If you are interested in attending this event, please register as soon as possible by December 2.
