Apply to Present in the Community Showcase at the Spring Tobacco Control Institute
What is the Community Showcase?
The Community Showcase is a casual poster session being held as part of the Spring Tobacco Control Institute on March 7, 2018. The goals are to showcase the good tobacco control work being done in South Dakota’s communities, network with and learn from others, and have fun! A small group of selected presenters will use a poster format to share a story about their organization’s recent work in tobacco control. Institute attendees will be able to visit with the presenters, learn about their work, ask questions, and network with others.
How do I become a Community Showcase presenter?
Apply online now using this link HERE.
Further guidance about how to apply to the Community Showcase is attached to this email.
Applications will be accepted through January 15. The application asks you to tell the Tobacco Control Program (TCP) about one example of your organization’s recent tobacco control work — what you aimed to do, how you did it, and how it contributed to addressing state tobacco control priorities. The TCP will review the applications and select up to 10 applicants to present at the Showcase. Applicants will be notified of acceptance decisions by January 26.
Who can apply to be a Community Showcase presenter?
Any South Dakota-based organization working on a project, program, or initiative related to tobacco control in the state can apply. You do not need to be currently funded by the Tobacco Control Program to apply. We hope to have a wide variety of communities and projects represented!
