ABOUT THIS WEBINAR:

Regular mammography screening often detects breast cancer before it progresses to late stage, subsequently leading to increased treatment options and a better chance for survival. However, disparities exist when it comes to accessing care. There are policy, system, and environmental change approaches that can address these concerns. Please join us for the first webinar in a two-part series reviewing breast cancer screening, guidelines, and barriers to care. Panelists will further review disparities in screening and how they continue to affect the burden of breast cancer.

This is a FREE session and may especially be applicable to health care providers, patient navigators, schedulers, and billing specialists.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  1. Provide an overview of the breast cancer screening guidelines including the role of mammograms and CBE’s.
  2. Discuss the screening disparities and barriers to care that affect the burden of breast cancer in Michigan.
