Additional Info:
Numerous casinos around the country have recently announced they are reopening 100% smoke-free indoors, led by sovereign tribes. This is a great way to maximize the investment in deep cleaning and to communicate that health and safety are priorities.
A lot has changed on the smoking issue for casinos. According to the CDC, 92% of millennials and young U.S. adults are nonsmokers, including most casino staff and customers.
Secondhand smoke is a top preventable cause of heart disease and other underlying chronic health conditions that are thought to result in more severe COVID-19 symptoms.
Casino ventilation systems do not address the health hazards of secondhand smoke. 100% smoke-free air helps casinos avoid mixed messages. Ensuring a safe and healthy environment for work and entertainment will be part of the “new normal.” Providing a smoke-free environment send a positive message that the casino cares about the health and wellbeing of guests and employees.
