New Informatics Tools and Methods to Enhance U.S. Cancer Surveillance and Research

Goal:  To advance surveillance science by supporting the development of new and innovative tools/methods for more efficient, detailed, timely and accurate data collection by population-based central cancer registries in the U.S.

Research Areas:   

1)    Development, validation, evaluation of tools/methods to facilitate data extraction from unstructured medical records

2)    Development of approaches for integration of registry with medical data to supplement data items currently not captured by registries

3)    Development of approaches for obtaining ongoing prospective reporting of data that can become part of the registry data flow

Funding Instrument:  UG3/UH3 Phase Innovation Awards Cooperative Agreement

(must apply for both phases together)

 

Award Project Period:  up to 5 years

 

Eligibility:     U.S. institutions only

Interested investigators must partner with a minimum of two U.S. population-based central cancer registries
