Announcing GMLA’s Scholarship Program for Students, Trainees, and Members of Historically Excluded Groups to Attend the Annual Conference on LGBTQ+ Health!

The GLMA scholarship program is designed to ensure inclusivity and representation, with a focus on individuals who have faced systematic barriers in accessing LGBTQ+ health resources and education.  By extending support to students, trainees, and members of historically-excluded groups, GLMA aims to empower the next generation of health professionals, researchers, and advocates who are committed to improving the health and well-being of the LGBTQ+ community.

This scholarship opportunity promotes networking, knowledge-sharing, and a sense of belonging among attendees, improving the quality of care for LGBTQ+ individuals.  The program reflects GLMA’s commitment to equity and inclusivity in health care, driving positive change in the LGBTQ+ health field.

Scholarships will be awarded either as full or partial coverage of registration costs.

Applications are due by July 30, 2023.

Award notifications will occur on a rolling basis.

Eligibility:

  • Scholarship applicants must be a current prospective student/trainee and/or member of a historically-excluded group, including but not limited to BIPOC individuals, intersex individuals, disabled individuals, and Indigenous and Two-Spirit individuals.
  • Applicants must be available to virtually attend at least one full day of the Annual Conference:  September 28-30, 2023.
  • Applicants must complete this application in its entirety.

(Please note:  A significant portion of scholarships will be reserved for Indigenous and Two-Spirit individuals, so they are strongly encouraged to apply.)
