Description:
The Sacred Circle of Tobacco is designed to engage youth in taking lead roles to bring awareness of the traditional use of sacred tobacco. This training will prepare adult mentors/individuals on strategies to recruit and train youth, serve as a supportive mentor, and to facilitate interactive training using stories, discussion, interviews, and to encourage youth to develop a plan to reach their peers and communities.
Objectives:
At the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
- Differentiate between commercial and traditional tobacco use.
- Identify strategies to engage youth to bring awareness of sacred tobacco.
- Gain skills and confidence to implement the Sacred Circle of Tobacco in the community.
