Subject:  Upcoming Data Disaggregation – Data Justice Webinar
Presented by:  Asia Pacific Partners for Empowerment, Advocacy, and Leadership (APPEAL)

An upcoming webinar titled, Shifting and Equity Lens to our Data Practices:  Data Disaggregation.

In summary, this videoconference aims to improve participant understanding of the link between data disaggregation and health equity; knowledge of policy-based solutions related to data disaggregation; and ability to advocate internally for disaggregated data to drive decision-making and resource allocation to address commercial tobacco control-related health disparities.  The webinar will be moderated by Rod Lew, from APPEAL, with experts in data disaggregation and data justice.  While the speakers represent Native Hawaiians, Pacific Islanders, and Asian Americans, the dialogue is applicable to any populaiton with multiple subpopulations who are typically lumped into one larger group, thereby masking disparities within the larger group.  Further, the speakers are not necessarily from commercial tobacco control so their talking points will be rooted in a broader public health context.

See flyer below for learning objectives, speaker information, and complete details.
