FUNDING OPPORTUNITY – American Cancer Society
The American Cancer Society (ACS) will soon issue a new funding opportunity to support increased colorectal cancer (CRC) screening in American Indian and Alaska Native communities. ACS will offer grants of up to $100,00 ($50,000 per year for 2 years) to five organizations to support the implementation of CRC screening projects aimed to improve screening and decrease CRC disparities. Details are included in the letter HERE.
The formal RFA will be released this spring, but we are circulating this information now in order to provide advance notice to organizations that may be interested in pursuing one of these grants, and allow them to be prepared to respond to the RFA upon its release. If your organization may be interested in pursuing one of these grants we are requesting the submission of a non-binding Letter of Interest (LOI). Please submit the LOI and any questions to spo@cancer.org by February 28, 2017.
As many of you know, in April 2016, the National Colorectal Cancer Roundtable and the ACS co-sponsored a meeting to explore barriers and solutions to increasing CRC screening in AI/AN communities. The RFA represents one step ACS is taking to advance that work. Thank you to those of you who shared significant contributions at that meeting.
We encourage you to apply and to share widely with other organizations that are working to improve the health of AI/AN populations.
