Leveraging Screening, Brief Intervention and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) is an effective approach to initiate tobacco cessation treatment services.  Primary and integrated care providers can maximize client engagement by using motivational interviewing techniques, a core component of SBIRT, to enhance behavior change and treatment outcomes.

Join the National Behavioral Health Network for Tobacco and Cancer Control and Pam Pietruszewski, MA, the National Council’s integrated health consultant on Thursday, October 28 from 2 – 4 p.m. ET for a comprehensive workshop designed to build on your existing knowledge of the use of motivational interviewing and SBIRT in tobacco cessation.  This workshop will feature an engaging and interactive presentation and real-time discussion that explores how to utilize SBIRT and motivational interviewing in your tobacco cessation programming.
