CDC to Release new Vital Signs Report on Tobacco-Related Cancers

Save the Date: CDC to Release new Vital Signs Report on Tobacco-Related Cancers

On November 10, 2016, CDC will release a report about tobacco-related cancers, emphasizing the burden of cancers and cancer deaths associated with tobacco, and highlighting opportunities for comprehensive cancer and tobacco control to prevent tobacco use and cancer.

Tobacco use is the leading preventable cause of cancer and cancer deaths. Tobacco use can cause more than lung cancer – it can cause cancers of the mouth and throat, voice box, esophagus, stomach, kidney, pancreas, liver, bladder, cervix, colon and rectum, and a type of leukemia.

What can you do to learn about and help prevent tobacco-related cancer and cancer deaths? CDC is offering several opportunities to learn more about CDC’s new Vital Signs report about tobacco-related cancers and show your support in November during Lung Cancer Awareness Month.
