Learning Objectives/Outcomes:

At the conclusion of this activity, the healthcare team will be able to:

1. Understand the relationship between vaping and mental health in Michigan Teens by regional data and studies.
2. Identify risk factors and protective factors such as peer pressure and social media influence, and discuss protective factors like family support and mental health resources that can mitigate these risks.
3. Discuss evidence-based strategies and programs that address both vaping prevention and mental health support in Michigan teens, emphasizing culturally relevant approaches and community involvement.

Target audience:

Physicians, nurses, health educators, administrators, and support staff working with American Indian and/or Alaska Native populations.
