Live in Ceremony
Presented by Ernie Albers

“Live in Ceremony” is a presentation about living your life and approaching your life’s obstacles in a ceremonial way.  Using traditional stories and lessons and relating them to life in today’s world.  Sharing the use of physical movement and developmental postures (warm-up) and relating those movements to ceremony and traditional living.

Ernie Albers is Yurok tribal member as well as a Karuk and Hupa descendent.  Ernie comes from a long line of traditional storytellers and has been deeply rooted in ceremony and culture from a young age.  Taking lessons learned from ceremony, Ernie utilizes storytelling to relate them to life and obstacles in today’s world.  Ernie also co-owns Lifted Arcata, a personalized group training gym specializing in functional movement and human-specific training.  Ernie strives to run Lifted Arcata in the same way as a ceremony.  Everyone plays their role to the best of their ability, everyone has trust in one another, and there is one goal in mind.  He wants Lifted Arcata to feel like a community and family, putting community health -physical, mental, and spiritual- as a priority.
