October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month
From Melissa Meza, Health Education Specialist, California Rural Indian Health Board
October marks Breast Cancer Awareness Month, an annual campaign that raises awareness for those affected by breast cancer. Breast cancer is the most common cancer among Native women, and is the second leading cause of death. In the U.S., 1 in 8 women will be affected by breast cancer. This month, we ask that you join us in raising awareness for all Native women who may be touched by cancer.
How to get involved:
- Wear pink to honor breast cancer survivors share your photo with us, and tell us why breast cancer awareness is important to you. We will share your event on the Facebook page for Indigenous Pink Day 2020. https://www.facebook.com/events/611062506229623/
